Q. How are ChromaDex™ Reference Standards and Reference Materials chosen for development?

A.  ChromaDex™ Reference Standards and Reference Materials are developed and produced based on the demand by the industry.  Our research and manufacturing plan is based largely on the standards which are of the greatest economic demand .  The procedure takes into consideration a survey of known existing standards and developing standards of the industry.  Manufacturers, government officials, industrial and commercial users, inspection authorities, and others provide input to ChromaDex™ standards and methods. If you require a standard or reference material currently not offered by ChromaDex™ please contact our Technical Sales team to see if we have development plans for this material.   TOP

Q.  How do I purchase a ChromaDex™ Reference Standard or Reference Material?

A.  All ChromaDex™ Standards can be ordered by phone, fax, or e-mail.  If you are ordering from outside the United States, please visit out International section of the website to find a local distributor in your country.  If we do not have a local agent please contact ChromaDex™ directly for pricing and shipping information.  You can also check the ChromaDex™ standards web pages for more information.  TOP

Q. Do I need to buy the primary ChromaDex™ Standard, or can I buy the reagent grade?

A.  What separates one standard from another is it's purity along with the level of characterization and testing that has taken place on that batch of reference material. Therefore, a primary standard is usually has a higher purity and has more documentation provided with it.  On the other hand, the secondary or reagent grade includes less documentation.  There isn't any hard and fast rules as to which category of standards you should use.  However, the quality of the standard bought should reflect the use for which it is intended.  Therefore, high-end R&D testing should use primary standards.  For process development/production testing, perhaps a secondary or reagent grade standard can be used. Q.  Which ChromaDex™ Standard applies to my product?

Q.  Can I get the analytical method or Certificate of Analysis (CofA) without buying the standard?

A.  No. If you buy the standard, both the Certificate of Analysis (CofA) and the method (if there is one for the product) come with your order. . We do not sell or supply CofA's or analytical methods without products.  TOP

Q.  Are there other organizations authorized to sell or test ChromaDex™ Standards?

A.  Only registered ChromaDex™ distributors are licensed to sell ChromaDex™ standards.  Almost all reputable testing labs or production facilities will use ChromaDex™ Reference Standards for analytical testing purposes.  Our standards, being from an independent third party, are the most accurate standards for testing that manufacturing facilities can use to verify their products.  TOP

Q.  Can ChromaDex provide me with information about international standards?

A.  Yes. ChromaDex's™ international distributors can provide information on the international standards affecting their country of operation. Q.  Does ChromaDex test using international standards?

A.  Yes, ChromaDex™ will test using international standards, if requested, and as long as the international standard is provided. Currently there are very few international regulatory standards for botanical products and therefore most of the testing undertaken by ChromaDex™ is done under our own high quality testing procedures.  TOP
